Former Dancing with the Stars Contestant Hope Solo Accuses Maksim Chmerkovskiy of Hurting Her at Rehearsals

Maks and Hope Solo

Hope Solo not only won a gold medal at the Olympics, she has written a book, “Solo: a Memoir of Hope.”  People Magazine is reporting that in the book she alleges that Maksim Chmerkovskiy hurt her during rehearsals of Dancing with the Stars,

“He manhandled me in rehearsals from the start, pushing me, whacking my stomach, bending my arms roughly.”  Hope thought that perhaps this behavior was just part of how dancers work with each other.  At one point, Hope states that he hit her so hard in the stomach,  that she had a hand print there for the rest of the day.

I do recall that during one rehearsal Maks seemed upset and flung her across the room.  Everyone seemed to laughed it off. And they both said on live  TV that everything was fine between them.

Hope also discloses that at one point ABC offered her a new partner.  Not wanting to get Maks in trouble, she declined.

Maks has not made an official comment but he has tweeted this, “Always hated hypocrites and liars…but when someone is both AND an opportunist, I just feel bad for them.  Can’t win at someone’s expense…”

Do you think there is any validity to her accusations?
