If you recall, at the After the Final Rose, Jef commented that he and Emily are going to visit Africa. And they are leaving today ( 7/27/12.) They will visit Ghana to visit villages where the newest wells have been drilled. Traveling with Jef and Emily will be Cody and Bronson, two very important people from People Water. And they will also join Generosity Water another non-profit organization. They will visit nine different projects that are now pumping water.
Two of the wells were funded by People Water and were paid for months ago. It sounds like People Water is doing a great job in many areas. I don’t blame Emily for wanting to be a part of it. The water is used for drinking, cooking, bathing, and cleaning. Rather than walking 10 miles for water, now the walk is one or miles. And the water will be used in schools and medical facilities.
In a recent interview with Wetpaint, co-founder, Cody Barker, talked about the importance of filming the visit. Cody shared, “A huge part of what we do depends on people being able to see the change these wells bring to communities. Documenting our trip allows us to show everyone how much of a difference can be made.”
By 2015, People Water hopes to fund 500 wells. I am so happy that Emily will be a part of this. Take time, if you have not seen the video of Jef in Nicaragua, where a will was drilled. I guarantee, you will have tears and/or feel emotionally grateful and proud of this company. For every bottle sold, People Water donates an equal portion to someone in need.
