 Elvis fans were very surprised to find Priscilla and Lisa Marie at Graceland on the 35th anniversary of the death of an icon.   A candle light vigil was being held August 15 in honor of the King at the mansion in Memphis, Tenn.

 Every year, thousands are on hand to remember Elvis.  This was the first time either Priscilla or her daughter, Lisa Marie, have ever attended.  Lisa and her mother appeared on stage and thanked the fans for their continued admiration of Elvis.  The event became official in 1980.

Priscilla  stated that Elvis would never have believed this could have taken place.   Lisa Marie also thanked the fans for coming and stated that she always avoided this gathering because it was too emotional.   But this year, Lisa Marie felt she needed to come and she told the crowd, “I love you very very much.” 

The vigil was scheduled to end sometime on the 16th.  Elvis’ gravesite is located on the property and it was lined with heart-shaped wreaths with red and white flowers.  About 75,000 fans were expected to participate.  What a wonderful tribute to a remarkable man who certainly introduced us to a new type of music.
