Ashley and J.P. Rosenbaum Share What Has Helped Them Stay Together
Ashley Herbert and J.P. Rosenbaum recently married after a year and a half engagement. Others who have not been so fortunate except Trista Rehn
& her husband, Ryan Sutter, and they are married and have two children. Trista was the very first bachelorette.
Ashley and J.P. have thought about their relationship and how far they have come. Here is their perception of what has enabled them to come this far. They both feel that they fit together well and it helped that their families genuinely like each other.
They agree that their personalities are different and it took some time to adjust. They did not move in together initially, but when they did, they really learned about each other. They realized that they were coming down from the high of the show. They did not want to rush anything, no setting of wedding dates or plans. They wanted to continue their relationship and grow together. They did not want to put any pressure on themselves so they did not talk to anyone about marriage or future plans.
After they had been engaged for a year they felt settled and began to explore the marriage idea. They knew that they truly loved each other and that the commitment to one another was there. After they settled in Princeton, they knew that they would be there for two years for Ashley’s residency. That’s when they sat down said, “Okay, let’s get married.”
It all sounds like great advice and it certainly worked for them. Honestly, both Ashley and J.P. seemed fairly relaxed in their lives and that could not have hurt their relationship either. And, if you think about it, there was never really any drama between them on The Bachelorette, like we have seen with some engaged couples.
